About the Artist
Avantgardening is what artist Evalie Wagner calls her interventions in and with nature. Oscillating between poetics and concept, she creates works that, as visual metaphors with numerous historical and aesthetic connotations, explore questions of society and our time. Ecology, coexistence, perception of nature are themes she approaches in an open, transformative process. With her polymorphous oeuvre, ranging from expansive installations in public spaces to paintings and design objects, she creates a dialogue between a place and its stories, art and the surrounding nature.
