"Fathoming the difference between line and stroke is what concerns me every day." Lavinia Lanner
The latest works by Lavinia Lanner can be seen under the title "Hairbarium" from 9 May 2019 at Kaiserstrasse 76.
The Hairbarium series encompasses the apparent creation and collection of a hybrid world of plants. The depictions of all the copies drawn are gathered together in large-format panels. Whether they are rippling roots or diverse leaves, their composition has never been seen before and yet there are always elements to be seen that make them doubtlessly recognisable as plants. A novel herbarium in pencil on paper that leaves open whether the representations refer to a counterpart in our world or not.
